Let me take you on a tour of Copenhagen's best shopping spots from my vlog there - trust me, your wallet might hate me later, but your wardrobe will thank me!
Vera Market: Second-Hand Heaven

First I have to talk about the famous Vera Market because it is as good as everyone says. If you ever wanted to raid a cool Danish girl’s wardrobe, this is the place to go for affordable finds. It's packed with local Danish girls cleaning out their closets for the season. If you love the Danish style you’re bound to find so many things you’ll love. The prices are super affordable for the most part. You will see some fast fashion here but there will also be a lot of designers like Ganni and Acne Studios. I walked away with over 10 pieces for <£60.
Tip: bring lots of cash. (The closest cash machine is a 5-10 min walk away) Many vendors only take cash or a Danish form of electronic money transfer
Gentofte Loppemarked: Where the Savvy Hunt for Treasures

Think of this as the fancy cousin of the vera flea markets. Last time I came to Copenhagen I meant to go to Vera market but when I arrived it was closed but there was another girl looking for it as well and she recommended we head here instead. It’s located in one of Copenhagen's poshest neighbourhoods, this is where well-heeled locals sell their pre-loved goods. You can score anything from sleek Danish furniture to barely-worn designer pieces at prices that'll make you do a double-take. It’s a bit out of the city but I think it’s worth it! Compared to Vera market there was so much more upscale designer clothing like Jaqumus sweaters, leather bags, Toteme, etc… Of course the prices here are much higher but you can find some great high quality gems here.
Tip: come early for the best finds!
København Central: Where Everything Happens
This is basically shopping central. You've got everything from big international brands to tiny Danish boutiques hiding down cobblestone streets. It's where locals and tourists mix and mingle, all hunting for their next favorite piece. You'll stumble upon the most beautiful boutiques you've ever seen. We're talking perfectly curated spaces with the most tasteful decor - think minimal Scandinavian vibes mixed with historic charm.
Strøget: The Main Shopping Street
This is Copenhagen's main shopping artery, and Illum is its beating heart. Think of Illum as that fancy department store where you can accidentally spend three hours (oops). And I know sometimes department stores can be seen as boring but not this one, they have all the brands you’d want to see and if you’re lucky there will be some nice sales going on as well. The best part? Head up to the rooftop for a coffee break with an incredible view of the city. Your feet will thank you.
Elmegade: The Cool Kid on the Block
Can't believe I almost forgot this gem! Tucked away in Nørrebro, Elmegade is where Copenhagen's hip crowd does their shopping. The street is lined with independent boutiques, vintage shops, and cool cafes. It's less touristy than some other areas, which means you'll find unique pieces that not everyone and their mother will be wearing back home. This area used to be the home of the Acne Studios Archive, but it’s still a great area to shop for new and vintage clothing.
Larsbjørnsstræde: Vintage Shopping Paradise
Full disclosure: I haven't made it here yet (my shopping budget needed a breather), but I’ve seen a lot of people on social talk about this area for vintage shopping. Apparently the shops here are quite curated and don't require hours of rummaging to find something good. Someone go and let me know if that’s true.
Quick Tips for Shopping in Copenhagen

Bring a reusable bag - your planet and your wallet will thank you
Cards are accepted pretty much everywhere, but keep some cash handy for markets
